It’s barely the new year and while we’re still thinking about our favorites of 2010, The LA Times invites us to look forward to the movies that will be fighting for our attention in 2011, with new stills from a dozen of the most highly anticipated (and not so anticipated) releases in the next 12 months.
There’s Emma Stone going dramatic in 60s Era civil rights drama “The Help”, supermodel Brooklyn Decker making her acting debut in the truly awful-looking “Just Go With It”, Jake Gyllenhaal stuck in Groundhog’s Day trying to solve a life-or-death mystery in “Source Code”, the guys from “The Hangover” back for more black-out-drunk shenanigans – this time in Thailand! – and many more. In short, there’s something for everyone heading our way.
Below are just a small sampling of first and second looks at a few of what 2011 has to offer. Of course, with Sundance around the corner – always at least a few breakouts and surprises in store – and the big awards contenders not bowing until late in the year, there’s still much to look forward to even if nothing in this group excites you.
