Didn’t know Garrett Hedlund and Leighton Meester could sing country music, did you? That’s exactly what they do on the newly launched official website for “Country Strong”, in which they co-star with Gwyneth Paltrow and Tim McGraw. Hedlund and Meester sing one song each on the film’s soundtrack, which streams for free on the site. The site also features a handful of new still images of Hedlund and Meester as Beau Hutton and Chiles Stanton, respectively. Hedlund’s Beau is a rising country singer/songwriter who gets involved with Paltrow’s aging star Kelly Canter. Together they plan to mount his ascent into stardom and her comeback into the spotlight, but things get complicated when they are joined on the road by her husband/manager (McGraw) and Meester’s beauty-queen-turned-singer Chiles.
Hedlund next stars in “Tron: Legacy” and “On the Road” while Meester continues to shoot “Gossip Girl” and recently wrapped “Monte Carlo”. See all the new stills of the two below, and be sure to visit the official site for “Country Strong”, which opens December 22, 2010.
