Watch: First footage from the set of “The Host” with Saoirse Ronan and Max Irons

Filming is still underway in New Mexico, but today MTV has our first look at some filming footage from the set of Andrew Niccol’s alien invasion actioner “The Host”, based on “Twilight” author Stephenie Meyer’s non-vampire adult novel. Saoirse Ronan takes the role of Melanie Stryder, one of the last few remaining humans on earth who haven’t been taken over by alien Souls (or hosts). When she does get taken over, her will to live is so strong she and the new inhabitant in her body, an alien called Wanderer, fight for dominance as they try to track down Max Irons‘ Jared, Melanie’s boyfriend, and their small pocket of human resistance, forced literally underground into hiding.

We have our first look at some of the intricate caves and tunnels that the group lives in, and naturally, much of the focus is on the romance aspect of the story. Irons’ Jared is conflicted because he can’t decide whether to kiss or kill the new and not-so-improved Melanie. Hmmmm, sounds pretty similar to another Meyer heartthrob.

“The Host” will be released on March 29, 2013, and you can watch the brief first footage from the set below.

Today we have the first footage from the set of one of our most anticipated upcoming movies, as Entertainment Weekly unveiled some B-Roll and interviews with the cast of magician heist thriller “Now You See Me.” Jesse Eisenberg, Isla Fisher and Dave Franco are seen in action as big-scale, high tech magicians performing tricks that involve both high flying wire-work and traditional bunny-and-top-hat stuff. The three play members of an elite magician troupe who use their performances for corrupt businessmen to swindle their money and lavish upon the more deserving. “Like modern day Robin Hoods,” says Fisher.

Of course, noble as their intentions may be, it’s still high illegal, and hot on their trail is an FBI team led by Mark Ruffalo and Melanie Laurent, who appears to be seen in a brief chase scene with Eisenberg in the clip below as well.

Directed by Louis Letterier, “Now You See Me” has been set for release on January 18, 2013. The first video footage from the set can be seen below.

Watch: First footage of Benjamin Walker and Anthony Mackie from the set of “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter”

We’ve seen the first pictures and poster of Benjamin Walker as the titular revisionist US President “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter”, but today we get our first footage from the set of the film. Walker looks totally transformed and eerily like the Lincoln from history while standing in front of Congress. No vampire shenanigans happening in this first video from the movie, just some green screens and a lot of guys in suits, including Anthony Mackie, who plays William, Ab’s best friend. Timur Bekmambetov directed the film on location in New Orleans this spring and the cast also includes Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Dominic Cooper.

MTV was on the set to talk to Walker, Mackie, Bekmambetov and more about the film. “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” is one of our most anticipated movies of the year and will be released on June 22, 2012.
