“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” star Emily Vancamp is taking further advantage of her summer hiatus from ABC drama series “Revenge” to fit in another film. THR reports Vancamp and Michael Nyqvist have been set to star in indie drama “The Girl in the Book”, written by Marya Cohn, who will also make her feature directorial debut on the project.
Vancamp will play the daughter of a literary agent who’s forced to confront her painful past when asked to work on the re-release of her father’s star client’s book: “Forced to face difficult memories and make bold decisions, she ultimately overcomes her demons, allowing her to find love and rediscover her creative voice.” Nyqvist will play the author, with filming set for mid-June in New York.
Primarily a television actress who broke out on The WB family series “Everwood”, which ran for three seasons, Vancamp then popped up on ABC drama series “Brothers and Sisters”, staying with the show for five seasons before landing her current leading gig on “Revenge”, which just wrapped season 2 and will return for season 3 in the fall. After a very extensive search, VanCamp beat out a slew of young rising film actresses for the female lead role of Sharon Carter, aka Agent 13 in sequel “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” opposite Chris Evans.
