Tom Hardy is in early talks to replace Joel Edgerton as Johnny Depp‘s co-star in Scott Cooper‘s true-life drama “Black Mass,” according to a report by Deadline. “Black Mass” is set to chronicle the rise and eventual fall of James “Whitey” Bulger (Depp), a South Boston mob boss and ex-Alcatraz prisoner whose infamous crimes date all the way back to the 1950s. The hunky Brit Tom Hardy has officially signed on to play Sir Elton John in biopic “Rocketman.” According to The Wrap, it’s been quite the search to find their leading man to play the iconic pianist, but Hardy was the clear fit.
