The Texas festival South by Southwest is famous for giving us hit film after hit film, and 2011 is shaping up to be no exception. Films from Source Code to Bridesmaids and Super have all proven popular with audiences and critics alike, and it seems like there’s another big film coming out of Austin.
Bag of Hammers, starring Rebecca Hall and Jason Ritter (and featuring a soundtrack from British folk artist-cum-thespian Johnny Flynn), is the first feature from 27 year old Brian Crano and follows Ben and Alan, “a pair of scam artists (Jason Ritter and “Easy A“‘s Jake Sandvig, who co-wrote the script with Crano) who befriend the neglected young boy who moves in next door, only for Alan’s sister (Hall) to cause tragedy when she interferes.”
The first screening was earlier this week, with lots of positive reviews coming off of the blogosphere, and now we have the first trailer. Bag of Hammers currently has no distribution but we’re hoping that will soon change.
