Announced this morning to be a Special Presentation at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival, “Writers” is touted to be a “funny and touching tale of a fractured family trying to rediscover one another over the course of a tumultuous year.” Greg Kinnear and Jennifer Connelly play writers, ex-spouses and parents to Lily Collins‘ Samantha, who is studying writing at college herself, and Nat Wolff‘s Rusty, who’s in high school. Logan Lerman plays classmate and love interest Lou to Samantha, while Rusty has his own romantic entanglements with classmate Kate, as played by Liana Liberato.
The first stills from the film have been released, and give us a glimpse at all members of the Borgens family. Patrick Schwarzenegger, Kristen Bell and even Stephen King in a cameo as himself round out the supporting cast. The Josh Boone directed “Writers” will be distributed by Entertainment One in Canada but has no US or international distribution yet. The first images of Collins, Lerman and Wolff can be seen below, while TIFF.net has even more of the rest of the cast.
