Zoe Kravitz seems to be collecting sci-fi franchises with roles in “X-Men: First class” and next year’s “Divergent”, and today we have our first look at the rising actress in M. Night Shyamalan’s “After Earth”, thanks to Blackfilm.
Kravitz plays daughter to Will Smith and Sophie Okonedo and brother to Jaden Smith in the family-friendly adventure set 1,000 years after Earth has been destroyed and abandoned. Father and son, both members of the peacekeeping army Ranger Corps, go on a mission to Earth that crashes and kills everyone else on board. Dad is a decorated Captain, and the son is a weakling who’s probably going to spend the movie proving he’s just as heroic as his dad as he battles a wild and untamed Earth, but either way it sounds like Kravitz probably won’t have to much to do as one of the womenfolk who get left behind on their new planet Nova Prime.
The first photo features Kravitz and the junior Smith inside some kind of orb. Is he a bubble boy? Is this movie about a bubble boy?? Anyway, see it below and catch “After Earth” when it’s released on May 31st.

It’s the reunion no one saw coming, but it’s really happening. Megan Fox and Michael Bay made nice and he’s cast her as April in Jonathan Liebesman’s reboot of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” (Bay is producing), and today we have our first look at Fox filming a scene, thanks to Britain’s Daily Mail.
April O’Neil is the plucky television reporter and human companion to the four walking, talking, crime-fighting turtles who originated as comic book characters but quickly became cartoons, toys and a permanent part of our pop culture landscape. They’ve been on the big screen four times previously, and Bay is planning to release this newest incarnation on May 16, 2014, with Jeremy Howard, Noel Fisher, Alan Ritchson and Pete Ploszek motion-captured for the live-action/CGI reboot. It also looks like April is not exactly covering the crime beat this time around as she has in past incarnations, but rather engaging in an exercise segment involving a trampoline.
Well, this is definitely a Michael Bay movie. Anyway, see the first photos of Fox below.

It was the big winner of out of this year’s Sundance Film Festival and remains one of our most anticipated of the year, and today we have the first poster for Ryan Coogler’s true life crime drama “Fruitvale Station” starring Michael B. Jordan.
“Fruitvale Station” (formerly just “Fruitvale”) swept the US Dramatic Competition category at Sundance, winning both the Audience Award and the top prize of the night: The Grand Jury Prize. The film, which co-stars Octavia Spencer, Ahna O’Reilly and Melonie Diaz, won rave reviews with its gritty retelling of the true story of Oscar Grant (Jordan), who was tragically fatally shot by police in a scuffle in the Bay Area on New Year’s Eve 2009. It’s next headed to the Cannes Film Festival, where it will play in the Un Certain Regard sidebar.
The film will be released on July 26th and the first poster can be viewed below.

Bryan Singer has had a tight handle on the marketing for his “X-Men: Days of Future Past”, mostly by tweeting all casting news and first look photos himself rather than distributing them through a publicity department, and he’s still at it several weeks into filming. Today he gives us our first look at Ellen Page back on set as Kitty Pride, the mutant known as Shadowcat.
Mutants past and errr, even further past are reuniting for Singer’s return to the director’s chair since 2003′s “X2.” “X-Men: First Class” alums James McAvoy (Professor X), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique) and Nicholas Hoult (Beast), who are still living in the 1970s or so, will meet X-Men of the slightly more recent past like Page’s Shadowcat, Anna Paquin’s Rogue, Shawn Ashmore’s Iceman (glimpsed briefly in today’s photo as well), Halle Berry’s Storm and even future versions of themselves in Patrick Stewart’s Professor X and Ian McKellen’s Magneto. But it all comes down to Shadowcat, who took the central time-traveling role in the comics on which this film is based, though we don’t know how it’s been altered for the big screen.
“X-Men: Days of Future Past” is filming now for a July 17, 2014 release date. See the first photo of Page in a variation on her classic black leather X-Men uniform circa the mid-2000s below. Are the slight differences due to the dystopic alternate future she’s trying to prevent? Curiouser and curiouser.

Shailene Woodley gets up close and personal with some knives in the first official photo from currently-filming YA adaptation “Divergent”, revealed this morning by EW.
Woodley plays Tris Prior in Neil Burger’s adaptation of Veronica Roth’s popular dystopian teen series, a young girl growing up in a futuristic Chicago whose society is broken up into factions based on dominant character traits. Fans of the book will recognize this picture as the knife-throwing scene, which is supposed to – somehow – test Tris’s bravery now that she’s chosen the Dauntless faction over her original Abnegation.
Filming has been taking place in Chicago for a few weeks with Theo James in the male lead role of Four, Jai Courtney and Miles Teller in antagonistic roles and Ansel Elgort and Zoe Kravits among Tris’ allies. No word yet when we might see some of them (some of whom are, in fact, the ones throwing those knives at Woodley), but material will probably be trickling out from now until the film’s release on March 21, 2014.
See the first photo from “Divergent” below.

We’ve seen glimpses of Andrew Garfield, Shailene Woodley, Emma Stone and even Jamie Foxx looking quite outlandish as Electro filming “The Amazing Spider-Man 2″ around New York over the past couple of months, and not to be left out, today Dane DeHaan has taken to Twitter to give us what appears to be the first official photo of Harry Osborn.
DeHaan, like his fellow newbie Woodley, looks good to us taking on the iconic role of Peter Parker’s best friend turned enemy and the son of the Green Goblin, Norman Osborn (to be played by Chris Cooper in this new retelling). Wearing a fancy suit and climbing into the back of a private car, looking slightly angry and sinister, DeHaan looks well suited to the rich outsider Harry first glimpsed in Marvel comics in 1965.
The sequel’s cast also includes Paul Giamatti as the villainous Rhino and Felicity Jones in an unspecified role, neither of whom have been spotted yet. But with filming due to continue through July, hopefully we’ll get some more details about their characters soon. But for now, it looks as if we’ve gotten a look at most of the main characters featured in the continuation of Marc Webb’s “Untold Story” of Spider-Man.
The first photo of DeHaan as Harry can be viewed below, and “The Amazing Spider-Man 2″ will be released on May 2, 2014.

It’s officially Marvel season! “Iron Man 3″ has been kicking off its worldwide promo tour – with screenings in London returning ecstatic results – and now “Thor: The Dark World” is prepping to begin its marketing push. Today USA Today has unveiled the first poster from the November release, featuring star Chris Hemsworth in some inclement weather.
Alan Taylor takes over the directing duties from original helmer Kenneth Branagh, and “The Dark World” will take Thor beyond Asgard and Earth to the Nine Realms, where dark elves, led by Christopher Eccleston, make up the villainous armies he must defeat. Tom Hiddleston is set to return as Loki but will have a smaller villainous presence than in “Thor” and “The Avengers”, while Anthony Hopkins as Odin and Natalie Portman, Stellan Skarsgard and Kat Dennings as Thor’s human allies will return as well.
Marvel bigwig Kevin Feige also describes the unusual source for the original image on the poster. It didn’t come from a photoshoot, but from just another day on the set. “It’s rare that you have a poster that is just Chris Hemsworth shooting on the set,” says Feige. “But he just looks like Thor. We just put in some lightning, and he’s got his hammer and you’re there. It’s just an incredibly striking image.”
See the full poster below and prepare for “Thor: The Dark World” when it’s released on November 8th. The first trailer will be released next week.

“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire”, one of the most hotly anticipated films of the year, has been running a social media marketing campaign wherein they reveal new images over at Hunger Games Explorer in exchange for tweets of designated movie-related hashtags, and we have our first look at Willow Shields reprising her role as the youngest Everdeen sister Prim in one of the recently uncovered images.
But fear not, there’s also new images of the main attraction of these movies, Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, looking grim and battered as always. Nothing new yet of Josh Hutcherson as Peeta, Liam Hemsworth as Gale or newcomers Sam Claflin and Jena Malone as Finnick and Johanna, respectively, but they’ll probably turn up soon – it’s just a matter of how fast teenage girls can tweet. It’s also been reported today by Showbiz 411 that some kind of star-studded presentation for the film may take place next month at the Cannes Film Festival. We will be there, and will hopefully get to see it, whatever it may turn out to be.
In the meantime, you can see the new photos below, and the Francis Lawrence-directed film itself will be released on November 22nd.

One of our most anticipated sequels kicks off production today and to mark the occasion (and perhaps to lower the price tag for the first unofficial paparazzi photos from the set), the first official image of Chris Evans reprising his role as Steve Rogers in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” has been released via EW.
Nothing too exciting to see in the first photo, just reinforcing Rogers’ relationship with S.H.I.E.L.D. but the film’s official tagline was also released, which proves a bit more interesting: “Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C.” That would make Scarlett Johansson front and center in this sequel, while that shadowy enemy, as comic fans are well aware, is taking the form of Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes, Steve’s wartime buddy who’s been resurrected as the titular villain Winter Soldier.
Emily VanCamp is also on board and her long-rumored role as Agent 13, aka Sharon Carter, is finally officially confirmed, while Hayley Atwell, as the first Carter Steve loved, will make an appearance via flashback. Samuel L. Jackson is expected to have a large supporting role as Nick Fury, and Robert Redford recently signed on to play the head of S.H.I.E.L.D.
“Captain America: The Winter Soldier”, under the direction of Joe and Anthony Russo, will be released on April 4, 2014. The first photo of Evans can be seen below.

She just won her first Oscar, but Jennifer Lawrence is not slowing down one bit. Since her big night just a month ago, Lawrence has already completed reshoots on “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” and is already on to her second movie set. This past week photographers spotted the blonde-again star back at work with “Silver Linings Playbook” director David O. Russell on his newest, donning a totally 70s updo as she prepares to film scenes as the wife of Christian Bale.
The untitled film, originally called “American Bullshit”, will follow the real life political drama Abscam, which was set up by the FBI in the 1970s and 80s. An FBI employee posed as a fictional Middle Eastern sheik named Kraim Abdul Rahman, who was videotaped taking meetings with government officials in which they agreed to take money for helping him gain asylum in the US, among other illegal activities. The investigation culminated in the conviction of a United States Senator and five members of the House of Representatives. Lawrence’s “Silver Linings” co-star Bradley Cooper is among the all-star cast, marking this their third collaboration in as many years, as well as Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner.
The first photos of Lawrence doing her best Trophy Wife impression can be found below, thanks to Celebrity Gossip and Zimbio. Be sure to head over for even more pics.
