Seth Rogen is hitting the road with legendary actress/singer Barbara Streisand, playing her son in the long-gestating “My Mother’s Curse”, which will finally start shooting this spring, according to THR. The film follows an inventor (Rogen) who invites his mother (Streisand) along as he travels across country to sell his products and attempt to reunite her with a lost love. Both Streisand and Rogen have been attached to star since last summer but the project was not officially greenlit by Paramount until now.
“The Proposal” director Anne Fletcher will helm the film from a script by Dan Fogelman, based on his own experience traveling with his mother. Lorne Michaels, John Goldwyn and Evan Goldberg are producing. Rogen, Streisand and Fogelman will executive produce with David Ellison, whose Skydance will co-finance the pic.
Rogen, who broke out in Judd Apatow’s smash hit comedies such as “The 40 Year Old Virgin” and “Knocked Up”, can currently be seen in theaters as “The Green Hornet” and has indie dramedy “Take this Waltz” opposite Michelle Williams and the cancer comedy formerly known as “Live With It” both still awaiting 2011 release dates.
