It’s been over a year since “Little Birds” became one of our most anticipated Sundance films, but only now are we getting our first glimpse at the coming of age drama from writer-director Elgin James.
Since its premiere at the Utah film festival in 2011, star Juno Temple has steadily gained more visibility in Hollywood, so it’s probably great timing that the movie will finally be released this June. Temple plays Lily, an aimless and depressed teenager living by the Salton Sea who convinces her more reserved best friend Alison (played by Kay Panabaker) to run away to Los Angeles with a boy she meets (Kyle Gallner). Of course, they get into more trouble than they expect and do a little growing up along the way.
No firm release date yet, but the first teaser trailer for “Little Birds” can be seen now below.
