Bradley Cooper has big plans but Christian Bale isn’t so impressed in the newest clip released from David O. Russell’s NYFCC winning latest, “American Hustle.”
Cooper plays Richie DiMaso, an FBI agent with big ideas who busts small-time con artists Irving and Sydney (Bale and Amy Adams) and makes them work for him in catching corrupt politicians with a con or two, all wired to record, of course. Jeremy Renner is the New Jersey mayor and target of Richie’s big ideas for video surveillance, but Irving clearly doesn’t relish in going along with “ruining America” by taking down even more politicians in the wake of Watergate and Vietnam. Meanwhile, Jennifer Lawrence as Irving’s unstable wife Rosalyn threatens to unravel everything.
We are less than two weeks away from “American Hustle” being revealed to audiences on December 13th. For now, the newest clip with Cooper, Bale and Adams is below.

More outrageous Jennifer Lawrence coming at ya in the newest clip released from David O. Russell’s 1970s caper flick “American Hustle,” and this time alcohol is involved so you know things about getting out of control. Lawrence is seen here having dinner with her con man of a husband (Christian Bale), Jeremy Renner’s corrupt New Jersey mayor and Elizabeth Rohm, playing Renner’s wife Dolly.
Just like her real life counterpart, Lawrence’s on-screen alter ego Rosalyn is a total scene-stealer, showing off her (apparently scented) nails to Dolly, then demanding that both boys stop their shop talk and sniff her too. It doesn’t take much longer for her to be falling out of her chair in hysterics. Oh, can’t it be December 13th yet?
“American Hustle” also stars Bradley Cooper and Amy Adams though the released footage thus far seem to focus on Lawrence’s antics. That’s marketing! See the newest clip below.

We knew from the various trailers and TV spots released thus far that Jennifer Lawrence gives a deliciously outrageous performance in David O. Russell’s latest, “American Hustle,” and today we finally have a nice long clip of an actual scene from the film that seems to reiterate this yet again.
Big hair, golden robe and Long Island accent and all, Lawrence’s Rosalyn prepares to make dinner for her husband Irving (Christian Bale) and their kid but immediately burns it instead. He’s clearly resigned to the fact that she’s crazy and this happens all the time, while she takes the opportunity to berate him for his shortcomings and it’s just so campy and funny and good.
Bradley Cooper, Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner also star in the film about 1970s cons, and “American Hustle” will be released on December 13th. Not too long now! MTV debuted the first clip, which you can watch below.

Jennifer Lawrence appears to be the focus in the new TV spot for David O. Russell‘s 1970s crime dramedy “American Hustle.” Alongside Lawrence is an epic cast that includes Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Bradley Cooper, Jeremy Renner and Robert De Niro.
The film is based on the true story of a 1980s FBI sting operation known as “Abscam,” in which a con artist worked with the FBI to fight corruption in Congress. Bale plays the role of the leading con artist who, along with his mistress (Adams), are forced to work with a federal agent (Cooper) to take down the mobsters and corrupted government that is led by New Jersey Mayor Carmine Polito (Renner).
Although only a supporting role in the film, Lawrence’s Rosalyn Rosenfeld appears to be a juicy one. She plays the young wife of Bale’s character who is described as a “loose cannon.” If you’ve been following the race thus far, then you should know that Lawrence is gaining buzz in the Best Supporting Actress Oscar race. If roles like Maria Tomei in “My Cousin Vinny” and Melissa McCarthy in “Bridesmaids” prove anything, it’s that the Academy does take a liking to scene-stealing comedic roles.
Last year’s romantic dramedy “Silver Linings Playbook” undoubtedly showcased Lawrence’s physical comedy. So, could a repeat win be in the cards for her? We’ll have to wait until “American Hustle” is released on December 18 (with a limited release on December 13) to see if her momentum persists.
Check out the film’s new TV spot below! Also, in case you missed it, watch the film’s first trailer here.

The “Silver Linings Playbook” duo are back in top form as Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper finally get some screentime and promptly steal the show in the newest trailer released today for David O. Russell’s “American Hustle.”
All of Russell’s leads get a slice of the spotlight here, which slows down the scenes considerably from the quick-cut montage style of the first trailer. As a result, we get to know our players a little bit more. Amy Adams is seductive and stubborn partner-in-crime to Christian Bale’s pot-bellied, comb-overed con artist, while Cooper’s permed, crazed FBI agent puts them to work. Meanwhile, Lawrence’s big haired housewife is busy bad mouthing Bale to their kid, and Jeremy Renner’s corrupt mayor doesn’t realize he’s about to be set up.
It all just looks so, so good. December 25th cannot come soon enough. For now, there’s the new trailer below to pass the time.

Casey Affleck gets into some deep trouble and Christian Bale has to bail him out in the new trailer for Scott Cooper’s highly anticipated drama/thriller “Out of the Furnace.”
In a role he beat out Garrett Hedlund, Channing Tatum and Taylor Kitsch for, the younger, non-Batman Affleeck is already showing impressive chops as a troubled soldier who turns to illegal underground fighting to make a living after coming home, only to disappear when he crosses the wrong guy (Woody Harrelson as menacing as we’ve ever seen him). Bale, as his older brother, must track him down and face some dangerous foes along the way. Zoe Saldana is also on board to play Bale’s love interest.
“Out of the Furnace” recently took “Foxcatcher”‘s spot at the AFI Film Festival in November after the latter decided to postpone its release to 2014. With every new trailer it jumps further up our list of most anticipated of the year, but we’ll have to wait until December 6th to see it. For now, the newest trailer below will tide us over.

“Breaking Bad” is almost over but Aaron Paul’s movie career is just beginning. Variety reports the TV alum has been cast alongside Christian Bale and Joel Edgerton in Ridley Scott’s biblical epic “Exodus.” Sigourney Weaver, Ben Kingsley and John Turturo are also joining the growing all-star cast.
Bale will play Moses in the film based on one of the Bible’s most iconic figures, he who parted the Red Sea and all that magical stuff. Edgerton is in talks to take on the role of Ramses, who eventually becomes the Pharaoh of Egypt who sends Moses and his fellow Israelites into exile. Turturro and Weaver are set to play Ramses’ parents Seti and Tuya, respectively, while Paul will play Joshua, a Hebrew slave who leads the exiles after Moses. Filming starts in September in Spain, Morocco and England.
Outside of his Emmy-winning role as Jesse Pinkman on AMC series “Breaking Bad”, now airing its final, 5th season, Paul won raves opposite Mary Elizabeth Winstead in Sundance hit “Smashed.” He recently wrapped up Nick Hornby novel adaptation “A Long Way Down” opposite Imogen Poots, Pierce Brosnan and Toni Colette, as well as potential racing action franchise launcher “Need for Speed.”

Darren Aronofsky’s got some competition in the biblical epic department. While “Noah”, starring Russell Crowe, Emma Watson and Douglas Booth is in post-production, Ridley Scott is prepping his own big budget blockbuster set in ancient times, with Joel Edgerton now joining Christian Bale in the film titled “Exodus”, according to THR.
Bale will play Moses in “Exodus” – after circling Russell’s role in “Noah”, ironically – in the film based on one of the Bible’s most iconic figures, he who parted the Red Sea and all that magical stuff. Edgerton is in talks to take on the role of Ramses, who eventually becomes the Pharaoh of Egypt who sends Moses and his fellow Israelites into exile. Will we hear Bale utter the words, “Let my people go”? Filming starts in September in Spain, Morocco and England.
Edgerton has become increasingly in demand in Hollywood after breaking out in Aussie crime thriller “Animal Kingdom” in 2010. He followed it up with roles in “Zero Dark Thirty” and “The Great Gatsby”, and recently completed filming troubled Western “Jane Got a Gun” and Aussie thriller “Felony”, which he also co-wrote. He’s attached to Jeff Nichols’ “Midnight Special” with Michael Shannon and Kirsten Dunst, which presumably he’ll transition to after wrapping up “Exodus” in early 2014.

A little under six months since Jennifer Lawrence won the Oscar for David O. Russell’s “Silver Linings Playbook” and already we are well on our way to seeing their next collaboration. And “American Hustle”, which reunites Lawrence with “Silver Linings” co-star Bradley Cooper and also stars Russell’s “The Fighter” actors Amy Adams and Christian Bale, looks even more batshit insane and awesome.
Everyone dons insane 1970s hairstyles to play larger than life characters who were involved in the real life FBI sting operation known as Abscam. Cooper’s agent forces con man Bale and his mistress Adams to go undercover in a series of wiretapped hotel room conversations with Washington’s most powerful players, while Bale’s unstable housewife Lawrence threatens to unravel the whole thing and Jeremy Renner’s New Jersey mayor struggles to keep his town together amidst the scandal. Plot, right, characters, uh huh, have I mentioned the hair?
“American Hustle” will be released on December 13th, which means the countdown begins… now. Watch the first trailer below.

De-glamming is a time-honored way for actresses to win Oscars, but can it work for the former People’s Sexiest Man Alive? Bradley Cooper does his best to shed his attractiveness and dons his best 1970s perm in the first photos from David O. Russell’s “Silver Linings Playbook” followup, “American Hustle”, clearly another awards season hopeful, unveiled by USA Today.
Russell has gathered a bunch of actors he’s recently worked with together for this film, which also stars Cooper’s “Silver Linings” co-star Jennifer Lawrence and Russell’s “The Fighter” stars Christian Bale and Amy Adams in the true life FBI Abscam scandal drama. Bale as Irving Rosenfeld, a New Jersey con man and his lover/partner in crime Sydney (Adams) are forced by Cooper’s unhinged FBI agent Richie DiMaso into going undercover in a series of sting operations that ultimately led, in real life, to the conviction of a United States Senator and five members of the House of Representatives on charges of corruption. Lawrence is on hand as Bale’s outrageous housewife who threatens to blow the whole thing, while Jeremy Renner plays Carmine Polito, a mayor trying to keep his town together amidst the shenanigans.
“American Hustle” has a very Oscar friendly release date of December 13th, and you can see the first photo of Cooper with Bale below. Be sure to click over to USA Today, who have some other images from the film.
