Paul Wesley has joined the cast of The Baytown Disco, one of the films from 2009′s black list.
The film, directed by Barry Battles in his first feature length debut, “follows the foibles of three redneck brothers who get more than they bargained for after agreeing to help a woman get her son back from his seemingly-abusive father”.
Wesley has yet to star in a successful feature film, mostly known for his portrayal of tortured hunky vampire Edwa … sorry Stefan, from TV’s “The Vampire Diaries” and so far having only taken on roles in straight-to-dvd films such as Elsewhere and Beneath the Blue. This however could be a breakout role for him, as The Baytown Disco also features some more well-known names such as Karl Urban, Eva Longaria and Billy Bob Thornton.
If successful it could also help a whole bunch of fellow up and comers who have roles including Daniel Cudmore (Twilight Saga: Eclipse), Thomas Brodie-Sangster (Bright Star, Nowhere Boy) and Zoe Bell (Whip It!).
The Baytown Disco is currently shooting in Louisiana.
