First Look: Daniel Radcliffe and Dane DeHaan channel Beat Generation icons in “Kill Your Darlings” set photos

Dane DeHaan and Daniel Radcliffe loosen up and get close as iconic Beat Generation icons Lucien Carr and Allen Ginsberg, respectively, while filming “Kill Your Darlings” in New York City. The new film tracks the origins of the Beat generation, with the slightly lesser known Carr at the center of a group of friends that also included Jack Kerouac (played by Jack Huston), Edie Parker (Elizabeth Olsen) and William Burroughs (Ben Foster).

Our first look at the set and actors in costume reveal DeHaan and Radcliffe appearing to have a grand ol’ time hanging out and obviously intoxicated on the streets of 1940s New York. John Krokidas wrote and is directing “Kill Your Darlings”, which will tie in to Carr’s involvement with an unstable childhood neighbor, David Krammerer (Michael C. Hall), whose death cemented the bond between the close-knit circle of friends.

With this cast, such an iconic grouping of characters and a juicy stranger-than-fiction plotline, “Kill Your Darlings” is easily topping our Most Anticipated Movies list. Too bad we’ll have to wait for 2013. See the first set photos below, and head over to The Daily Mail for even more.
