Jessica Biel is in early talks to play one of the lead roles in new romantic comedy “My Owner’s Wedding”, according to Deadline.

Robert Cary and Jonathan Tolins wrote the script about one man, the two young women vying for his affections and his loyal canine best friend who will go to great lengths to make sure he ends up with the right woman. No director is set yet.

Biel recently wrapped up shooting on indie drama “Emanuel and the Truth About Fishes” opposite Kaya Scodelario and can be seen this summer in the remake of “Total Recall” opposite Colin Farrell. She’s currently starring as actress Vera Miles “Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho” opposite Anthony Hopkins as the legendary director and Scarlett Johansson as Janet Leigh.

Jessica Biel joins Scarlett Johansson in “Alfred Hitchcock And The Making Of Psycho”

Jessica Biel has joined the star-studded cast of Sacha Gervasi’s “Alfred Hitchcock And The Making Of Psycho”, a “My Week With Marilyn”-esque film which follows famed director Alfred Hitchcock and his struggles during the filmmaking of the horror classic.

Also starring Anthony Hopkins as Hitchcock, Helen Mirren as his wife and Scarlett Johansson and James D’Arcy as co-stars Janet Leigh and Anthony Perkins, Deadline reports that Biel beat out several other actresses for the role of Vera Miles, who played Lila Crane in the 1960 film.

Biel has been slowly adding to her Hollywood resume over the last few years, with supporting roles in “Elizabethtown”, “The Illusionist” and “The A Team”. In recent months however, the actress has begun to take on lead roles and can next be seen in this summer’s remake of the ’80s film “Total Recall”. Currently filming indie dramaEmanuel and the Truth About Fishes”, Biel is also set to star alongside Chloe Moretz and Zach Braff in “The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea”.

Scarlett Johansson and James D’Arcy to play Janet Leigh and Anthony Perkins in “The Making of Psycho”

Blame this one on “My Week with Marilyn” (and a bit of “The Artist”, in my opinion). Variety reports Fox Searchlight is putting together “Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho”, a pretty self explanatory title for a film that will chronicle the behind the scenes antics in the filming of the iconic horror flick. All the key roles have already been cast, with Anthony Hopkins playing the legendary director, Helen Mirren as his wife, and Scarlett Johansson and James D’Arcy as his stars, Janet Leigh and Anthony Perkins.

Sacha Gervasi will direct the film about the making of the film, which, to be fair, was fairly intriguing in its own right. Hitchcock had to make the film despite parent studio Paramount hating the project, deeming it “too repulsive” and “impossible for films”, cutting his budget in the process and forcing him to finance it through his own production company and shoot it at Universal instead, and also shoot it in black and white, another cost-lowering measure. The legendary shower scene should also make for ripe some drama on film, as it took nearly a week to shoot and featuring 77 different camera angles.

Johansson was last seen in Cameron Crowe’s underrated “We Bought a Zoo” and is gearing up for the May release of the highly anticipated “The Avengers.” She has also committed to starring in musical drama “Can a Song Save Your Life?” with Mark Ruffalo and also Joseph Gordon Levitt’s directorial debut “Don Jon’s Addiction.” D’Arcy was last seen in Madonna’s “W.E” opposite Andrea Riseborough and will next be seen in the Wachwoski brothers’ ambitious sci-fi epic “Cloud Atlas.”
