Before Jesse Pinkman drives off “Breaking Bad” and into “Need for Speed,” he’ll take a detour to Utah, where Aaron Paul will premiere indie drama “Hellion,” a dysfunctional family drama that appears to put him in great turmoil once again judging by these first photos. Can’t the guy ever catch a break?
Newcomer Josh Wiggins makes his acting debut here as the titular Hellion, a 13-year-old juvenile delinquent who lives up to that title when his bad behavior gets his little brother sent away from their home to live with their aunt. Presumably Paul plays the kids’ dad, whose not such a role model himself, as they struggle to get their lives and the rest of their family back together.
“Hellion” was directed by Kat Candler and will screen in the US Dramatic Competition when Sundance 2014 runs from January 16-26, 2014. See the first photos from the film below.

No, there’s no English subtitles on this one, but you know… it’s “Beauty and the Beast” (or “La Belle et La Bête” in this case). We all know this story. Lea Seydoux takes the role of Belle here, as the dutiful daughter who takes her father’s place as a prisoner of the mysterious monster known as the Beast, who used to look like Vincent Cassel in a past life. There’s a rose, a curse, some personified critters, and some taming of bad manners and falling in love, perhaps over some dancing.
All in all, it looks very much like the Disney animated version of the classic fairy tale, though director Christophe Gans has obviously made it a bit darker. The visuals are a real highlight of this first trailer, and it all looks scrumptious and stunning, particularly all the lovely gowns Seydoux wears, some beautiful snowy action sequences and the ruined castle/mansion. The Beast looks… well, it’s really pretty hard to not make him look utterly silly right? Perhaps that’ll look better in context.
“La Belle et La Bête” has no US release date yet, but will open in France on February 12, 2014. The first trailer and poster are below.

What a trip to see Andrew Garfield on a movie set where he’s not wearing red spandex. For the first time in almost four years, Garfield is filming a movie that’s not “The Amazing Spider-Man,” and now we have the first photos of him working on indie financial drama “99 Homes” courtesy of Just Jared.
Ramin Bahrani wrote and is now directing the film in New Orleans, with Garfield in the role of “a father who struggles to get back the home that his family was evicted from by working for the greedy real estate broker who’s the source of his frustration.” In a bit of perfect casting, Michael Shannon plays that greedy real estate broker, and Garfield’s character will suffer a crisis of conscience as his new boss forces him to do more dirty work that takes advantage of people just like him.
The first photos of Garfield in character, looking scruffier, older and frumpier than we’ve ever seen him, are below. Just Jared have many more.

We’ve seen them standing around looking broody and beautiful, but now we have the first images of new “Transformers: Age of Extinction” stars Jack Reynor and Nicola Peltz in action and in apparent danger in scenes from the actual film itself.
Yahoo! Movies unveiled the first stills from the film, featuring Peltz’s Tessa in shock over something off screen and then getting ready to be picked up by what will be a giant robot hand once the green screen is painted over, talking to director Michael Bay behind the scenes. Reynor’s Shane, meanwhile, is seen with Mark Wahlberg’s Cade – Tessa’s dad, and the yellow sports car known as Bumblebee – his future best friend, probably.
“Transformers: Age of Extinction,” which follows a brand new cast of characters years after the events of the fist trilogy, will be released on June 27, 2014. See the first stills from the film below and head over to Yahoo for even more.

A comedy starring three of the hottest rising actors in Hollywood right now? Yeah, it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that we’re looking forward to the release of “That Awkward Moment“!
Starring Zac Efron, Michael B. Jordan and Miles Teller, this bromantic comedy follows three best friends who find themselves at a point in their respective relationships where they have to decide exactly where it’s headed, before – surprise surprise – girls end up complicating matters.
We’ve now got some new character posters starring Efron, Jordan and Teller as well as Imogen Poots. Each poster plays on a joke we’ve already seen from the first red-band trailer which proved Teller is once again the scene-stealer – although this looks like an excellent vehicle for Efron and Jordan to both show their comedy skills.
“That Awkward Moment” is scheduled for release on Janaury 31st 2014. Click below to view the posters.

Will Smith gives Margot Robbie some instructions in the first set pics from upcoming grifter romantic comedy “Focus,” unveiled today by Britain’s The Daily Mail.
He plays a veteran con man and she’s an up and comer who seeks his help in getting acclimated to the profession. Naturally, a romance blossoms, which complicates things when they part ways and then meet up again years later. These first set photos, taken on the production’s first day of shooting in Buenos Aires, appears to show Robbie’s character Jess dressed up prim and proper, probably getting ready for a con job, while Smith’s Nicky, much more casual, gives her pointers. Glenn Ficarra and John Requa wrote and are directing the WB project.
No release date yet, but we’ll probably get to see “Focus” in 2014. For now, the first set pics are below, and head over to Daily Mail, who have even more.

I don’t know about anyone else, I have a bit of West Memphis 3 fatigue, at least as far as Hollywood’s fascination with the case goes. The three guys recently got out, which is great, but filmmakers are just still not tired of the subject yet, even with at least four documentaries already having been made and released. “The Devil’s Knot,” though, is at least a dramatization of the events, so it’s a new approach, but this first trailer doesn’t seem to offer anything new on the issue.
Then again, it is only just a trailer, the first one at that. Reese Witherspoon as Pam Hobbs, one of the murdered boys’ mother, takes center stage in her grief, as does Colin Firth as Ron Lax, a private investigator who takes a special interest in the case as he begins doubting the guilt of the WM3. As for the WM3 themselves, they are being played by a trio of young newbies: Seth Meriwether as Jason Baldwin, Kristopher Higgins as Jessie Misskelley Jr. and James Hamrick as Damien Echols, the perceived leader of the trio. Meanwhile, he’s barely in it, but Alessandro Nivola should have a juicy role as Terry Hobbs, eventually suspected of the crime himself. Dane DeHaan is also seen walking around but his role remains unknown.
This trailer seems to indicate the film even further sensationalizes the alleged satanic worship that the prosecutors argued was the motive behind the killings, which seems to be missing the point a bit. But we’ll see. “The Devil’s Knot” has no release date yet, but we should see it in 2014. The trailer, plus some new photos via The Playlist are below.

We first heard of this project just a few months ago but it looks like William H. Macy’s feature directorial debut “Rudderless” is just about done and ready to be shared with the world. The Playlist have the first images from the film featuring Selena Gomez and Anton Yelchin.
Billy Crudup has the lead role as a grieving father who decides to start a band after finding original music written by his late son. Laurence Fishburne also stars. It’s still unclear what roles Gomez and Yelchin play, and the new images don’t really clear things up, though Yelchin with a guitar certainly could mean he’s the dead son (in flashbacks) or a new member of Crudup’s band.
No distribution news for this one yet, but by my estimation “Rudderless” might be a good bet to make an appearance at Sundance in January. For now, the first stills are below, and be sure to head over the The Playlist, who have a handful more, mostly of Crudup.

This is starting to feel like one of those tiny indies that may never see the light of day, but today, via ONTD, we have new images of Hollywood’s new It girl Shailene Woodley in “White Bird in a Blizzard,” the Gregg Araki film she did right before landing “The Amazing Spider-Man” and “Divergent.”
Woodley filmed this, her first post-”Secret Life” project, just about a year ago, and it promises to be her darkest and most grown-up role yet – if we ever get to see it. News has been scant on the distribution front, while many a film festival has passed since it wrapped. Whenever it does come out, we’ll be watching Woodleyas a young woman who is haunted by the mysterious disappearance of her mother (Eva Green) while romancing a neighbor (Shiloh Fernandez) on a trip home during a college break.
So, let’s hope we’ll see it at Sundance or Cannes, where Araki’s last film “Kaboom” premiered. With Woodley’s rising star, it seems improbable that this one will stay hidden for too much longer. For now, there’s the new images below to tide us over.

Shailene Woodley and Theo James perch atop a dystopian Chicago in the newest poster released via Yahoo! Movies for YA franchise hopeful “Divergent,” and this one looks much more in tune with the feel of the novel than those shirtless tattoo non-sequiturs.
Woodley’s Tris Prior is the Katniss Everdeen, if you will, of this story based on the novels by Veronica Roth – the third and final of which was just released to great divisive debate. Tris lives in a futuristic Chicago where society is divided into five factions, each grooming and emphasizing one dominant character trait. She’s told she’s “divergent,” meaning she has more than one dominant trait, which makes her dangerous for some reason. She has to figure out exactly what secrets shadowy government figures are hiding before she ends up dead. But don’t worry, there’s a hot guy to help her along, though James doesn’t seem to be exuding too much charisma in this new poster.
Neil Burger directed the film which also stars Zoe Kravitz, Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort and Kate Winslet and which will be released on March 21, 2014. See the newest “Divergent” poster below.
