Disney has found its new Han Solo, and Alden Ehrenreich has landed the much-coveted role in a new “Star Wars” spinoff prequel film, according to Page Six.
Ehrenreich first emerged as a contender for the role in March and became a frontrunner to play the younger version of the character made iconic by Harrison Ford in April. Other young actors in contention included Miles Teller, Taron Egerton, Scott Eastwood, Ansel Elgort and Jack Reynor.
Phil Lord and Christopher Miller will direct the film set to be released in 2018.
Ehrenreich, whose credits include “Beautiful Creatures” and “Blue Jasmine,” recently did some incredible work in the Coen Brotehrs’ “Hail, Caesar!”
