Fox is closing in one young actress’ potentially star-making role.
Upcoming manga adaptation “Alita: Battle Angel” has a lead role ready to launch one actress’ career into the stratosphere. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Maika Monroe, Rosa Salazar and Zendaya are the trio up for the role.
“Alita: Battle Angel” centers on a female cyborg found by a scientist with her memory. Using the one thing she can remember, her martial arts training, the cyborg becomes a bounty hunter. The action-packed tale touches on complex matters including love and self-discovery.
Monroe, whose credits include “It Follows” and “The Guest,” will next appear in “Independence Day: Resurgence.” Salazar’s credits include “Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials” and “CHiPs” while Zendaya recently nabbed one of the females leads in “Spider-Man: Homecoming.”
James Cameron is set to produce while Robert Rodriguez will direct the film.
