Fresh off her second Oscar nomination, Saoirse Ronan has signed on for her latest project, starring in Greta Gerwig’s writing and directorial debut, “Lady Bird.”
Deadline reports that plot details are sparse, but Ronan will play a high school student who is spending her last year at home in Sacramento, CA.
Ronan was just nominated for Best Actress for her work in John Crowley’s “Brooklyn” (our #1 movie of 2015. She is making her Broadway debut this spring in Arthur Miller’s “The Crucible.”
Gerwig is known for roles in Noah Baumbach’s films like “Mistress America” and “Frances Ha,” which she also co-wrote. She recently wrapped “20th Century Women” and is now filming “Jackie.”
