Shailene Woodley has nabbed the third lead role in HBO miniseries “Big Little Lies,” opposite Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon.
Kidman made the announcement during a speech at the HT Leadership Summit yesterday.
The adaptation of the Liane Moriarty follows three mothers, with Woodley taking on the role of Jane, the youngest mother who’s new to town and so young that the other mothers mistake her for a nanny. The three women could not be more different but all become embroiled in a mystery after someone ends up dead.
Filming begins in January, with Jean Marc Vallee directing at least a couple of episodes.
Woodley is best known for her role as Tris in the “Divergent” franchise, with part 3, “Allegiant,” set to be released in March and the final installment following a year later. She’ll next be seen opposite Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Oliver Stone’s “Snowden.”
