In this week’s episode of “Orphan Black” titled, “Ruthless in Purpose, and Insidious in Method,” we are finally introduced to the blond, bubbly clone, Krystal Goderitch who we caught a glimpse of a few episodes back when she was engaging in a strange threesome with Castor clones Rudy and Seth (both played by Ari Millen). Krystal details this encounter while giving a seemingly unsuspecting Delphine (Evelyn Brochu) a manicure, and is completely oblivious to the fact that she is a clone. Later, Delphine meets with Dr. Nealon (Tom McCamus) to discuss Krystal, Rachel’s health, and dispensability.

Sarah (Tatiana Maslany) checks in on Cosima, and confides in her about finishing what Beth started. When Shay (Ksenia Solo) arrives, Cosima has to quickly end her video-chat with Sarah to do some spiritual yoga with her new girlfriend. Sarah, meanwhile, gets in contact with Scott (Josh Vokey) and he asks her to meet with Rachel to decode her father’s hidden messages. After an intense encounter with Delphine, an eyepatch wearing Rachel video chats with Sarah, and tells her that she’ll only cooperate if she can flee the country and “escape to a quiet life” when they’re done. Sarah points out that the rest of the world thinks Rachel is dead, so leaving the country would not be possible. Rachel then reminds Sarah of Krystal, whose identity Rachel can steal. She proves that she can decode her father’s messages with a cryptic nursery rhyme about Castor taking over if they don’t succeed.

Donnie (Kristian Bruun) is reluctant to let Helena live at his house, but Alison and Felix (Jordan Gavaris) try their hardest to convince him. Donnie is tasked with showing Helena how to work with soaps at Bubbles, but things get uncomfortable when Helena flirts with him. Before Donnie can talk to Alison about Helena, Gracie (Zoe de Grandmaison) shows up, ready to work. Gracie is reunited with Helena, and they talk about their her lost child. Meanwhile, Jason (Justin Chatwin) arrives at Bubbles and Alison tries to talk to him about the kiss he thinks they shared, but he kisses her instead. When Alison tells Donnie the kiss was all a misunderstanding, he distrustingly searches through her phone. He texts Jason pretending to be Alison and asks him to meet at Bubbles. While there, they get into a fist-fight, and Jason knocks Donnie out cold.

Delphine and Cosima discuss a failed clone experiment and try to put their heads together to come up with new ways to save Cosima’s health without having to us Kira. Just before they get a little too close to reuniting, Delphine gets a call from a distraught Scott, who informs her that Rudy broke into his apartment and stole the Dr. Moreau book. Finally, Cosima and Scott are forced to tell Delphine about Dr. Duncan’s coded book. Delphine is visibly angry that they went behind her back, but becomes livid when she finds out they didn’t make a copy of the book.

Sarah and Felix track down Krystal at her nail salon to steal her identification. Felix arrives for his appointment with Krystal, Canadian accent and all, and she tells him all about her encounter with the Castor clones, much like she did with Delphine, not knowing the danger she could be.  Felix flirts his way into getting information from her, but feels bad when she confides in him about her ex-boyfriends. After stealing her wallet, Felix gives her some words of encouragement so that she doesn’t feel so alone in the world.

When closing up the nail salon, Krystal gets a visit from Dr. Nealon, who seems to know who she is. Meanwhile, Sarah, Felix and Siobhan get a visit from Scott’s friend, who gives them a copy of Dr. Moreau. Back at Dyad, Cosima tells Delphine that she’s resigning, while Scott and Rachel escape the facility and go to Siobhan’s. Sarah promises Rachel her new identity as Krystal Goderitch, provided Rachel decode the book. But before Rachel can decode anything, Dr. Nealon breaks in and takes Rachel’s copy of Dr. Moreau, all while informing them that Delphine knew a copy of the book was made. Rachel gets angry and this causes her to have a seizure, forcing Dr. Nealon to take her back to Dyad to operate.

Rachel has been induced into a coma, and may never recover. This sends Delphine over the edge, as without Rachel, they can’t decode Dr. Duncan’s messages. She accepts Cosima’s resignation, and lets Scott know that he no longer works at Dyad either.

Meanwhile, it is revealed that Rachel’s not the one in a coma–Krystal is. Thanks to Dr. Nealon, Rachel made it safely to London, England, where, evidently, Sarah, Felix and Mrs. S. are headed to try to decode Dr. Duncan’s messages on their own.
