HBO pilot “Virtuoso” has found its female lead, with The Wrap reporting Freya Mavor has joined the musical historical drama.

Set in 18th Century Vienna, the pilot centers on the Academy of Musical Excellence. The school is full of young musical prodigies including Mavor’s Marie. She comes from a distinguished Parisian Catholic family and is the sole female in the academy’s inaugural class.

Peter Macdissi is set to star and executive produce the drama. Iva Babic, Francois Civil, Lindsay Farris, Alex Lawther and Nico Mirallegro also star.

Alan Ball, Elton John and David Furnish brought the project to HBO. Steve Hamilton Shaw will also executive produce.

Mavor is known for playing Mini McGuinness on British drama “Skins.” Her other credits include “Not Another Happy Ending,” “The White Queen” and “New Worlds.”
