Shia LaBeouf and Jesse Eisenberg are in talks to star in Todd Phillips’ next film “Arms & The Dudes,” according to Deadline.
The film is based on an article Guy Lawson wrote in Rolling Stone, and will follow Eisenberg and LaBeouf as two stoners who end up in a new profession: arms dealing. When the two get a multimillion dollar contract to provide individuals in Afghanistan with weapons, they realize just how far out of their depth they are.
LaBeouf is probably still best known for his role as Sam Witwicky in Michael Bay’s first “Transformers” trilogy. Other notable recent roles include John Hillcoat’s “Lawless” and Lars Von Trier’s “Nymphomaniac.” He will next be seen opposite Brad Pitt in “Fury.”
Playing Mark Zuckerberg in “The Social Network” garnered Eisenberg his first Oscar nomination for Best Actor. He played a magician in surprise action hit “Now You See Me” and will reprise his role in sequel “Now You Don’t.” He’s currently filming the role of Lex Luthor in Zack Snyder’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” opposite Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill.
