The first image of Allison Williams as “Peter Pan” in NBC’s newest live musical adaptation was released today by Today.com.

The image shows Williams in Peter’s classic green costume with a new short hairstyle.  In an Instagram post from the star herself, she explains her willingness to commit fully to the role by cutting her hair, but the decision was made to use a wig.

“Peter Pan” will air live on December 4th and is a follow up to “Sound of Music”, which NBC aired last year.

The live event is a revival of the Peter 1954 musical. It follows the Darling children, Wendy and John, and their encounter with the titular Peter Pan, the boy who refused to grow up. Along with his fairy friend Tinkerbell, Peter takes the Darlings to Neverland where they meet “The Lost Boys” and learn to fly, among other adventures.

Christopher Walken and Christian Borle will also star, with Walken as Captain Hook and Borle as both Hook’s pirate sidekick Mr. Smee and George Darling.
