Ridley Scott heads to ancient Egypt for his next film, and now thanks to EW we have the first photos of Joel Edgerton and “Breaking Bad” alum Aaron Paul joining Christian Bale in “Exodus: Gods and Kings.”
“Exodus” follows Bale as Moses, the Old Testament prophet who stood up against the pharaoh Ramses (Edgerton) and freed 600,000 slaves. Paul plays Joshua, a Hebrew slave who leads the exiles after Moses. Edgerton, for his part, seems aware of some of the controversy that stirred over some of the film’s casting, though he stands by his director’s work. “When Ridley first called me I have to admit I was like, ‘Really, me—Pharaoh of Egypt?’” the actor tells EW. “But he made it work.” Filming took place in Spain, Morocco and England.
“Exodus: Gods and Kings” will b released on December 12th and the new photos can be seen below.
