The first photo featuring an ensemble cast for WGN America’s upcoming period drama “Manhattan” has been released. The title “Manhattan” refers to the real life Manhattan Project of World War II and follows the scientists who gathered to develop an atomic bomb before the enemy. Set in the remote desert of Los Alamos, New Mexico during the 1940s, “Manhattan” promises to be a tale of secrets, both big and small.

The series, created by writer Sam Shaw (“Masters of Sex”), features John Benjamin Hickey (“The Big C”) as project leader Frank Winter. He leads a cast including Ashley Zukerman (“Rush”), Rachel Brosnahan (“House of Cards”), Alexia Fast (“Jack Reacher”), Daniel Stern (“Home Alone”), Olivia Williams (“Dollhhouse”), Michael Chernus (“Orange is the New Black”), Eddie Shin (“Men of a Certain Age”), Katja Herbers (“Divorce”), Harry Lloyd (“Game of Thrones”) and Christopher Denham (“Argo”) – all featured in the photo.

“Manhattan” will premiere on July 27th for a 13 episode season.
