The original “Rosemary’s Baby” was a fantastic film. It was loved by critics and audiences alike and it bagged Roman Polanski an Oscar nod for his screenplay, which is impressive considering how the horror genre is treated by the Academy.
So when the remake mini-series was announced, I think it was safe to say that there was caution surrounding it. People didn’t want this going the way of recent horror remakes. I think the casting of Zoe Saldana, who is loved pretty much by everyone, softened the blow though.
Now, NBC have released a poster for the series, which is sure to create excitement for fans of the film. The poster shows off the Eiffel Tower, which suggests the film is set in Paris rather than New York from the original. The tagline is “Fear is Born” which gives us an idea of where the plot is going… I think we can guess it’s not going to be nice. Good luck with that, Rosemary.
Anyway, I’m quite excited for this. Saldana is fantastic and the supporting cast of Jason Isaacs, Patrick J Adams and Carole Bouquet isn’t bad either. It’s being directed by Agnieszka Holland, who is no stranger to TV with “Treme” and “The Wire” on his resume.
