’12 Years a Slave’ Takes Best Feature at Independent Spirit Awards [Full List of Winners]

At the very last stop before the Oscars tomorrow night, Film Independent handed out its prizes for the Independent Spirit Awards today, and many Oscar front-runners solidified their status heading into the big event. Most notably, “12 Years a Slave” dominated the day, taking Best Feature, Best Director for Steve McQueen, Best Supporting Actress for Lupita Nyong’o and Best Screenplay for John Ridley.

Other winners include Cate Blanchett for “Blue Jasmine” in Best Lead Female, Best Lead Male to Matthew McConaughey for “Dallas Buyers Club” and Jared Leto for Best Supporting Male in the same film. All four acting winners today are expected to repeat tomorrow night at the Academy Awards.
