Two years after the Wachowskis gave us “Cloud Atlas,” they’re back with another sci-fi adventure known as “Jupiter Ascending.” A new Japanese trailer for the film, which stars Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis, has been unveiled today – and it’s surprisingly not much different from the first one.
“Jupiter Ascending” follows a skilled assassin (Tatum) who is sent to earth to rescue a young human woman (Kunis) who is targeted for assassination by the Queen of the Universe in attempt to protect her position. In tradition with all stories of this kind, the warrior and princess develop feelings for each other, making matters more difficult. The first minute of the new trailer is pretty much almost identical to the previous, albeit differences in timing. We get the same gist of save the girl, save the universe. In fact, upon comparing both closely, I noticed that the original trailer contained a lot more footage than the international version. Still, you might as well consider this to be a refresher.
The rest of the film’s cast is loaded with a lot more up-and-comers, namely Eddie Redmayne, Douglas Booth, Tuppence Middleton, and James D’Arcy. So, you know we’ll be keeping an eye on this one! “Jupiter Ascending” is scheduled for a July 18 release date. Check out the latest trailer below!
