Hannah Ware has been cast as the female lead in Fox International Production’s “Agent 47,” according to Variety. The action film will be based on bestselling video game “Hitman,” and is a sequel to the 2007 action film of the same name.
Rupert Friend will star as the titular assassin, who was orphaned and then raised by an organization of assassins for hire. He eventually finds himself dodging his own employers’ wrath as well as danger from outside forces. The 2007 film starred Timothy Olyphant in the lead role; Friend replaced the late Paul Walker in the role in Jaunary. Zachary Quinto is also on board. Details on the plot for the sequel or Ware’s role have yet to be released.
“Hitman” has sold 21 million units to date, while the most recent edition,“Hitman: Absolution” has sold 10 million units. Ware’s previous credits include “Oldboy” and ABC’s “Betrayal.”
