This is starting to feel like one of those tiny indies that may never see the light of day, but today, via ONTD, we have new images of Hollywood’s new It girl Shailene Woodley in “White Bird in a Blizzard,” the Gregg Araki film she did right before landing “The Amazing Spider-Man” and “Divergent.”
Woodley filmed this, her first post-“Secret Life” project, just about a year ago, and it promises to be her darkest and most grown-up role yet – if we ever get to see it. News has been scant on the distribution front, while many a film festival has passed since it wrapped. Whenever it does come out, we’ll be watching Woodleyas a young woman who is haunted by the mysterious disappearance of her mother (Eva Green) while romancing a neighbor (Shiloh Fernandez) on a trip home during a college break.
So, let’s hope we’ll see it at Sundance or Cannes, where Araki’s last film “Kaboom” premiered. With Woodley’s rising star, it seems improbable that this one will stay hidden for too much longer. For now, there’s the new images below to tide us over.
