“True Blood” star Luke Grimes has been cast in “Twilight” fanfiction adaptation “50 Shades of Grey,” playing the brother of
Edward Cullen Christian Grey, Emmett Cullen Elliot Grey, according to Variety. Let’s face it, Grimes probably auditioned for the lead, but lost out to Charlie Hunnam, and then again to Jamie Dornan. But he’ll probably manage to come out of this much more unscathed than the two leads.
Dakota Johnson plays Bella Swan aka Anastasia Steele, who seeks to uncover Dornan’s Christian’s secrets. Is he a vampire? Nope, he’s just into BDSM. Christian’s adopted brother Elliot is described as “tall, muscular, and wide-shouldered with curly blonde hair and blue eyes” and is “funny, affectionate, and laid-back.” And he ends up dating Anastasia’s roommate Kate, who is hot and blonde and kind of an ice queen. Really, this isn’t like “Twilight” at all.
Grimes made a splash when he broke out in Jonathan Levine’s cult horror classic “All the Boys Love Mandy Lane” opposite Amber Heard, but may now be best known for his role as Ryan on ABC series “Brothers and Sisters.” He was recently seen on season 6 of HBO’s hit vampire series “True Blood.”
