After dropping the first trailer on us yesterday, fantasy epic “The Seventh Son” is now entering a marketing push leading up to its second Comic-Con panel on Saturday, July 20th (it already had one two years ago, in 2011). Today, the first poster from the film has been released, featuring a presumably minor character, played by “Game of Thrones” actor Kit Harington.
Ben Barnes plays the titular Seventh Son here, as the apprentice fated to assist Jeff Bridges in his defeat of the evil witches led by Julianne Moore, falling for Alicia Vikander’s beautiful and benevolent witch along the way. Of course, many apprentices have tried and failed at the task before him, and Harington plays one such unfortunate pupil. His fate is pretty well spoiled in the trailer, though we’re not ruling out twists and surprises.
Expect more character posters to drop between now and the Legendary panel in San Diego in a little over a week. “The Seventh Son”, after many delays, has finally settled on a January 14th, 2014 release date. See the first poster featuring Harington below.
