Isaac Marion’s novel “Warm Bodies” has been a favorite of ours here at Up And Comers so we were pleased but apprehensive to hear it was being adapted for the big screen by Jonathan Levine (“50/50“). The film has a strong cast full of rising stars; Nicholas Hoult plays R, a formerly emotionless zombie who begins to feel feelings after consuming the brain of Perry Kelvin (Dave Franco), a young member of the human resistance hiding and fighting off the zombie apocalypse. Kelvin gets inside R’s head, flooding him with memories and emotions and he begins to feel protective of Kelvin’s still human girlfriend, Julie, played by Teresa Palmer, leading to an unlikely friendship that proves to have transformative consequences for both human and zombiekind.

We got our first look at Hoult as R back in January, and now MTV have exclusively revealed the first poster – which features a similar image as earlier this year but an added tagline “Cold Body Warm Heart” and a dripping heart behind Hoult’s head.

Levine told MTV that he thinks the poster “captures the tone of the movie really nicely … It’s iconic, it’s irreverent, it’s got a sense of humor about itself, and yet it’s got heart”, and we’re hopeful that this existential zombie love story may just find an audience outside of the Twilight set.

“Warm Bodies” is released on February 1st 2013. Click below for a bigger image.
