One of our favorite break out stars of the year, Kara Hayward has been quiet since “Moonrise Kingdom” premiered at Cannes Film Festival to critical acclaim. We called Hayward’s performance “incredible”, and how it often felt like watching a seasoned actress at work. Now Deadline reports that the young thesp has chosen her next project, an adaptation of Steven Millhauser’s short story “The Sisterhood of Night“.

A teen drama, Hayward will star alongside a fellow young actress, Morgan Turner, who co-starred with Robert Pattinson in the melodramatic drama “Remember Me”.

“The Sisterhood of Night” follows Hayward’s character, the local high school’s very own gossip girl who exposes a secret society in her quiet New Jersey town and accuses them of deviant activity. Three young girls are then thrown to the metaphorical wolves, as the town and the blogosphere attempt to uncover what goes on in the woods at night. Dealing with the loneliness, tragedy and humor of adolescence all whilst growing up in the digital age, Marilyn Wu scripted the film back in 2007, and Caryn Waechter is on board to direct.
