Aussie rising star Jai Courntey has joined his fellow countryman Joel Edgerton in psychological thriller “Felony”, according to Deadline.
Edgerton wrote the script which will see him star as a decorated cop who runs a cyclist off the road after a night of drinking and celebrating with his co-workers. His decision to lie about what actually happened changes everyone’s lives forever. Courtney will play a new detective on the force who begins to suspect Edgerton’s character may be lying and eventually builds a criminal case against him. Tom Wilkinson is also part of the cast and filming under the direction of Matthew Seville will begin this month.
Courtney, who broke out on Starz series “Spartacus: Vengeance”, recently completed filming on a trio of highly anticipated upcoming films: “A Good Day to Die Hard”, in which he plays John McClane, Jr, son to Bruce Willis, “Jack Reacher” opposite Tom Cruise and “I, Frankenstein” opposite Aaron Eckhart.
