Eccentric, visionary director Terry Gilliam has added French actress Mélanie Thierry to the cast of his next feature, “The Zero Theorem.” Deadline is reporting that Tilda Swinton, David Thewlis and “Moonrise Kingdom” kid actor Lucas Hedges are also joining Christoph Waltz in the film. Filming begins on October 22nd in Romania, with Waltz in the role of “an eccentric computer genius plagued with existential angst who aims to discover the purpose of life.”
Thierry, who acts primarily in her native France, has appeared in English productions including BBC series “Charles II: The Power and The Passion”, and made her American film debut as Aurora in 2008′s “Babylon A.D.” She was recently considered for the female lead in Danny Boyle’s new feature “Trance”, but ultimately lost out to Rosario Dawson, and recently appeared opposite Tom Hiddleston in BBC’s adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Henry V.”
