Isabelle Fuhrman will join Kodi Smit-McPhee in indie coming of age drama “The Wilderness of James”, according to Deadline. Chloe Moretz had been in talks for the role, but it was contingent upon working out a schedule around her commitment to the now filming “Kick Ass 2.” Well, looks like a schedule couldn’t be worked out, and Fuhrman gets the job instead.

Plot details remain vague, but in the Michael Johnson written and directed film Fuhrman will play the role of Val, while Smit-McPhee plays a young boy in Portland dealing with the absence of his father. Filming begins on location in Portland this month.

Fuhrman, who played vicious Career Tribute Clove in “The Hunger Games” earlier this year, got her breakthrough role playing a different sort of vicious child in horror flick “Orphan.” She recently wrapped up M. Night Shyamalan’s sci-fi family adventure “After Earth” opposite Will and Jaden Smith.
