It’s always tough to adapt a beloved novel for the big screen but the first trailer for “Life of Pi“ hit the internet today and it looks like Oscar winning director Ang Lee may win over the sceptics.
Filmed in 3D and starring newcomer Suraj Sharma, “Life of Pi” is a fantasy adventure novel written by Yann Martel and adapted for the screen by David Magee. The film follows protagonist, Piscine Molitor “Pi” Patel, who survives 227 days after a shipwreck, while stranded on a boat in the Pacific Ocean with a Bengal tiger, and explores issues of spirituality and practicality from an early age.
The first trailer looks absolutely stunning, and considering this is one film currently on many Best Film awards watch lists, we’re sure we can also add it to the cinematography field.
