In Time | October 28, 2011
Director: Andrew Niccol
Writer: Andrew Niccol
Cast: Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seyfried, Olivia Wilde, Cillian Murphy
What it’s about: In the near future, people are immortal because the aging gene has been deactivated. To avoid overpopulation, time has become the currency. The rich can live forever, and the rest have to negotiate for their immortality. When a young man comes into a fortune of time, he ends up on the run from a corrupt force known as “time keepers.” — Yahoo! Movies
Why we’re excited: Writer/director Andrew Niccol is fantastic at futuristic, slightly magical-realist tales (see: “The Truman Show”, “Gattaca”) so the premise behind “In Time” seems right up his alley. The trailer looks entertaining, high action and fun, and it’s just such an exciting collection of young stars – Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seyfried, Olivia Wilde, Cillian Murphy, Alex Pettyfer, Matt Bomer, need we go on? – trying their first hand at being action heroes. Summer may be over but we always have an appetite for a good blow-‘em-up popcorn flick, and this seems like it’ll fit the bill quite well.
