It’s one breakthrough after another for Mireille Enos. After years on television and finally a breakout role starring in AMC’s hit new series “The Killing”, the 36 year old has nabbed one hell of a feature film debut. THR reports Enos will be playing Karin Lane, the wife of Brad Pitt’s character Gerard Lane in the Marc Forster-directed zombie apocalyptic thriller “World War Z”.
There had been some speculation that the film, based on the Max Brooks novel of the same name, might not get made, due mostly to its $125 million budget, but now all signs say go and production is set to get underway this June in London, Malta and other locales around the world. The story is set 10 years after a zombie epidemic and told from various survivor perspectives. Matt Carnahan adapted the screenplay.
Enos has been making the guest-starring rounds on every TV show from “Sex and the City” to “Law & Order” to a regular role on HBO’s “Big Love” before landing the lead role of Detective Sarah Linden on AMC’s “The Killing”. Her only previous big screen credit was a small cameo appearance in 2001’s forgettable Hugh Jackman-Ashley Judd rom-com “Someone Like You”.
