Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton get equal face time in the first posters from “Warrior”, posted by co-star Jennifer Morrison on her Facebook page early this morning.

In the Gavin O’Connor directed drama with hardly subtle similarities to “The Fighter”, Hardy plays Tom Conlon, the youngest son of a troubled family and an ex-marine, who returns home and enlists the help of his father, an alcoholic ex-boxer, to help him train for a Mixed Martial Arts fight with the largest prize money in the history of the sport. As his star in the ring begins to rise rapidly, his older brother Brendon, an ex-MMA fighter himself and estranged from the rest of his family, begins to prepare to step back into the ring himself when getting a real job proves too difficult a task. Needless to say, the brothers end up on a collision course that sets the two up to face off in the championship round.

Morrison plays Edgerton’s wife, while Nick Nolte is on board as the drunken patriarch of the family. “Warrior” releases in theaters on September 9, 2011.
