Hot off “The Social Network”, Jesse Eisenberg has signed on to his next project, a supporting love interest role in the indie dramedy “Free Samples”, The Wrap reports. Little known actress Jess Weixler plays a law-school dropout who doles out free samples of ice cream from a friend’s food truck while trying to figure out what to do with her life. Typical quarter-life crisis Generation Y fare. Eisenberg will pursue her romantically, but she can’t remember much about him after a one night stand. Jason Ritter, who previously co-starred with Eisenberg in “The Education of Charlie Banks,” Tippy Hedren, Hallie Pfeiffer, Keir O’Donnell, Jocelyn Donahue and Matt Walsh all co-star.

Production is already underway in Los Angeles under the direction of Jay Gammill. Eisenberg recently wrapped filming on Ruben Fleischer’s “30 Minutes or Less” and will presumably be quite busy in the coming months making the rounds as he gears up to land a likely Oscar nomination for his portrayal of Mark Zuckerberg in “The Social Network”.
